Pros & cons? Well are there any cons?
I finally tried threading. Being personally vegan and also very busy, I couldn't be bothered finding a salon that uses vegan friendly wax and even if I could, would I want to spend that money? Waxing from memory always left me with a breakout and sometimes even a reaction not to mention trying to find a convenient time to schedule this type of injury to my face so that I wouldn't look "funny" at an event or function. Dramatic? Sounds like it, but I think not.
So I finally had an afternoon for a little me time. I went for a massage that was lovely and on my way out I passes a place that do herbal cosmetic tattooing and things like laser treatments etc as well as threading. I popped my head in to ask them about it. I was interested in getting my lip done and they offered to do it right then and there and it was only $8. I'm loosely assuming that's probably expensive compared to other parts of the world but for Australian standards when it comes to beauty I was more than satisfied. So I went in and she started right away. It took less than 5 minutes and the results were good. I simply touched up with some concealer and powder and got back to my leisurely afternoon. In comparison to a wax, I would say my skin was barely red, no sticky residue and ready to go!
Less 'pimply' after effects than waxing
Can apply make up afterwards (well i did)
No yucky bad lines
Removes hairs without irritating skin
Doesn't affect the way makeup applies in first few days like waxing can do
Well it hurts.. more than wax? no not really.. Beauty is pain girlfriend suck it up! :)
The only thing i'm upset about is that I didn't try this sooner. I'm exceedingly happy with the results and the experience and this will be added to my beauty regime from now and onwards. Highly recommend this to everyone as not only an alternative or a solution to waxing but just generally a much better way to go!
