Nail polish by Australis
Once upon a time, in a land far away, ahhhh just kidding. But it does seem a bit like that when I think to how long ago, I used have my nails done. In fact, it was over a decade ago when I would have both my fingers and toe nails done once every 3 weeks.
I had a wonderful nail technician. She was absolutely amazing. Operating out of a salon at her lovely home which she had downgraded to, after teaching nail tech in college.
She was a master at her craft and I guess you could say I was a little bit spoiled.
When she finally decided she wanted to make a career change, I was absolutely beside myself and no other nail technician came close.
I decided from that moment that I was just going have to 'do it myself'.
I began my search for high quality nail polish, lacquers and gels. That was all great and all, not to mention how much money I was saving, but then a few years later when I switched to a vegan & cruelty free lifestyle, all those discoveries came to a grinding halt and I started the same research from scratch all over again.
Over the years I'd found a few products here and there that were fine, and sure enough they 'did the job'. I found that the more money I spent, the harder the disappointment fall would be. After feeling a sense of despair and almost giving up, I made the discovery that elf cosmetics fit the bill. Being extremely affordable I was pretty happy. Their polishes weren't the best I'd ever used, but exceeded the value for money expectation by a long shot.
Next up, a few months later I would try the Australis nail polish for the very first time. I don't want to rave on and on, but i'm pretty much in heaven right now. haha.
I used their red and clear base/top coat and achieved a beautiful gel look finish. At $4.95 each and a few extra $ for buffing and filing tools, I would be crazy to complain.
Not only that, but their polish remover is ALSO vegan friendly. #yay
ARGH, I told you I was in heaven.
Here is a photo of the polish almost a week after application. (Taken in the waiting room at the doctor, as you do)
#footselfie? no. never mind..
Anyyyway, on that note, I think we're done here folks. :)
